Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) is a term derived from the growing body of
literature showing that not all men who have sex with men are gay. Adopted by
sex researchers and AIDS organizations to classify men who have sexual relations
with other men but whose sexual identity is neither gay nor bisexual, the
acronym recognizes a reality that complicates our tendency to divide the world
into heterosexuals and homosexuals, with a small number of bisexuals, who are
sometimes thought of as simply gay men or lesbians who have not come to terms
with their homosexuality. That is, the reality of sexual activity is more
complicated than the traditional binary (or even trinary) system of nomenclature
can accommodate.
This article focuses on straight men who have sexual
relations with men (SMSM). They are not gay nor are they bisexual, though their
behavior might be seen as bisexual or homosexual.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear your view point on this because the gay community no longer has any credibility in my eyes. For so many years all I read was judgement of anyone who did not accept that they were gay if they had any level of same-sex attraction. They would not even acknowledge that there were bisexual people. Now more are coming out and claiming mixed attraction and taking the focus off of the gay way of life and now you want to dictate that these men have been straight all along and they are not really gay. I am sorry you cannot have it both ways, this is the ultimate hypocracy.
You make a lot of sense from your point of view I see what you mean. As I understand the gay movement, there was so much against anyone defining themselves as gay that it went to the other extreme. That is unfortunate. Now there seems to be more balance and room for everyone gay, straight, bisexual and the most people who are in between.

Basically 0.5 and 1's (on a "Kinsey" scale though I hate Kinsey for reasons not mentioned here)really outnumber the gay community itself
- Single same sex experience/attraction (I'm part of it (:) ... this is the HIGHEST and most common form of same sex contact
- Multiple same sex attractions/experiences (they MAY be predominatly straight but I think that they are more likely to be bissexual)
And then last but not least LGBT community ^_^ (exclusively)

That bissexual women exist
That bissexual men exist
That predominatly straight men (highest same sex contact recorded and still on record) exist
That predominantly straight women exist (highest recorded on women... I'm part of this statistic)
I am tired of gay people trying to convince me that I or she or him are gay or at best bissexual when I am clearly not
I know what I like
What I love in sexual contact
I love men
I adore their bodies
Their smell
Their taste
Their aura
Their spirit
I know whom I am
And if you try to convince me that I am bissexual (or gay) then you're wrong... dead wrong

I have met many straight men whom had at least 2 to 10 same sex contact with different people and in the end they prefer women and don't have same sex contact anymore
